Building is getting easier. The only thing that matters now is a GOOD IDEA and FREAKING GREAT EXECUTION.
When you’re coming up with ideas for a new product or feature that involves LLMs, just don’t let the cost of APIs or running the models even enter your mind.
Keep it completely out of the picture during that early creative phase.
The reason is simple. Inference is going to keep getting cheaper and the models are going to keep getting more capable. That’s the direction everything is headed.
So in the beginning your only job is to stay genuinely curious and let the idea take shape however it wants to. LET YOUR HEAD BE FULLY ON THE IDEA ITSELF AND NOTHING ELSE.
Once the idea feels solid, that’s when you switch into engineering mode and get smart about optimizations and efficiency.
Even then, look a few years ahead at how things are likely to change and build with that longer view in mind.
You should start thinking a lot and getting creative from right now.
